It’s fair to say I haven’t been blogging much over the summer. But I have been busy. After finishing the Made In China Part 1 module on quite a high, I didn’t want to lose that momentum. Not to mention the fact that by September, if you haven’t done most of your research then their really isn’t very much time. I’m talking about the dreaded dissertation. All 7000 words of it. To most students, 7000 words doesn’t sound like much but to a design student?
Anyway, as I said, I have been busy conducting interviews. Since my topic is ‘links between Scotland and China’ I tried to identify some key players and meet them so I could pick their brains. Having done that, I spoke to Highland Spring, Clyde Blowers, The Confucius Institute, Glenglassaugh Distillery, Ben Riach, Angus City Council, Dundee East MP, Edinburgh Bicycle Cooperative, China Britain Business Council, University of Dundee and Scottish Development International.
My tutor, Jackie, seemed happy with the research I’d done and has suggested that I go ahead and begin to transcribe and analyse it all. A fairly gruelling task but it has to be done.
